Considered a virtual ticket to the Basketball Hall of Fame, just 27 players in NBA history have reached 25,000 career points.
With the 2026-27 NBA season now in full swing, fans are starting to sink their teeth into the storylines that are dominant across the league so far this season.
Beyond the constant team-switching of star players that has created unprecedented parity across the league, several of the NBA’s most well-known veterans are steadily climbing up a few all-time leaderboards.
Of course these lists are dominated by LeBron James, who is the all-time leader in several cumulative regular season statistical categories, while ranking near the top in virtually every counting stat. Yet even outside of LeBron, a handful of tried and true veterans are starting to get their flowers when it comes to reaching lofty accolades.
Perhaps none of those are more conspicuous than the 25,000-point milestone, a benchmark widely seen to be not only a guranteed induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame, but also as an accolade reached by the sport’s most prolific scorers across the NBA’s history.
While LeBron James may be the only active player with over 10,000 assists and 2,000 steals, he has some company when it comes to others that have eclipsed 25,000 points. James is joined by Kevin Durant, James Harden, DeMar DeRozan and Stephen Curry as fellow active hoopers that have sped past the 25,000-point milestone.
They are among the 27 players in NBA history to have reached the mark, representing just over half of the 52 players to have recorded at least 20,000 points – the vast majority of whom are members of the Basketball Hall of Fame. Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo are the only active players that are currently between 20,000 and 25,000 points.
