Although our smallest collection when it comes to console controllers, we’ve still found a few memorable ones over the years.
While our overall physical video game collection is nearing 500 titles, it’s no secret that both my wife and I are a bit tilted towards Nintendo when it comes to games.
With that said, it wasn’t only Super Mario and Super Smash Bros. for me growing up, with the original Sony PlayStation supplying many of my early video game memories. My fascination with the console particuarly revolved around the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games, while the Guitar Hero series kept me hooked during the PlayStation 2 era.
Yet in the six years that my wife and I have been collecting, Sony consoles and the games released for them have taken a bit of a backseat – which is most obvious with our collection’s absence of the PlayStation 4, the third best-selling home video game console of all-time.
Therefore, compared to our controller collection across Xbox and Nintendo systems, what we have for PlayStation consoles certainly pales in comparison.
Still, we’ve picked up a few fun PlayStation controllers since we began collecting, specifically replacing a pair of third-party controllers that came with the PlayStation 3 we purchased on Facebook Marketplace in 2020.
Here’s a look at the PlayStation controllers currently in our library:
