Welcome to The Rubber Match! Born as a passion project following a career in TV news journalism, this blog aims to be an all-inclusive home for writing on a wide variety of topics, but primarily focusing on sports and media.
As a lifelong sports fan and current avid media collector, I’m hoping to share my experiences, thoughts and collected items with those who also hold many of the same interests and hobbies.
For a bit about myself, I’m a lifelong native of the Midwest U.S. who recently relocated to Northern California on the heels of a career of over five years in Chicago TV news. I spent time at two major stations in Chicago, contributing to sports coverage during my time in the industry as well.
My media collection is proudly shared with my wife, a college professor who has taken the journey with me over these past few years of adding to our collection, experiencing new art as often as we can while immersing ourselves in as much travel as possible.
With that said, I hope for this to be an all-encompassing platform – one where thoughts on everything from rethinking MVP races of the past to the legacy of decades-old albums can be shared.
